What are Pujas?
Pujas are ritualistic worship of the divine consciousness and its dance within our organic world. These are rituals in which an individual offers reverence and devotion to a deity (or deities) through various rituals and offerings. They are performed to keep us in harmony with cosmic forces, thereby removing and overcoming the sorrows of life and bringing spiritual upliftment. These rituals affect our thoughts and vibrations of the spiritual forces around us. These energies work to eliminate the negative influences in our life and help surround us with positive energy which can bring us peace of mind, and material prosperity and enable us to have clarity and access to our own divine nature.
The period when results of our past actions, favourable and unfavourable, come to fruition are indicated by planetary positions at the time of our birth. A great deal about the events and influences of life can be predicted through the science of Jyotish (Vedic Astrology). The malefic effects which are destined to befall us can be averted or their effects reduced by the grace of sincere meditation, mantras, selfless service, and the performance of specific rituals as recommended in the scriptures. The body, mind, and spirit are purified and harmonised by acts of devotion, mantra japa, and ritual practices.

Here are some examples of the Pujas offered:
- Goddess Kali or Bhadrakali is a goddess and is one of the ten Mahavidyas. Kali’s form is that of a destroyer of negativity, a powerful feminine energy. She is also viewed as the divine protector and the one who grants liberation. Kali is often described as standing or dancing on her consort Lord Shiva. Kali Puja reverses all ill effects of occult practices and relieves a person from the negative effects of spirits and disembodied energies. Puja also removes the harmful effects of malefic planets, especially Saturn which is normally responsible for suffering, misfortune, and sorrow. Kali Puja bestows spiritual strength and fulfills one’s wishes and invites abundance, and brings the comforts of life. She is worshipped to alleviate chronic conditions like paralysis, blood pressure, and nervous disorders. She also worshiped for longevity.
- Maha Mrityunjaya Puja is considered extremely beneficial to live a long and healthy life. It works very efficiently for those who are under the influence of negative energy as it helps in nullifying the dark energies and protecting them from the same in the future. This Puja helps to give one a healthy, wealthy, and prosperous life.
- Pratyangira Devi protects from the ill effects of occult practices. She not only blesses with protection against any ritualistic actions done by enemies but also has the power to return any negativity, threat, or obstacle with twice the impact which enemies may have planned. This puja sadhana confuses and destroys the mind of an enemy and provides protection against any social, economic, mental, or physical agony.
- To invoke the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari (the God of medicine), Dhanvantari Mantra Japa and Puja are performed. This energy appeared as having medicinal herbs in one hand, and a pot containing nectar in the other. This Puja has the power to clear ill health, and when the fire offering is performed it also spreads positive energies and goodwill.
- Kaal Bhairav is worshipped for good fortune and fulfillment of one’s wishes. One should also conduct Bhairav Puja for protection against occult practices and other negative energies. It is believed that Bhairav is worshipped before undertaking any journey, travel, new endeavours, and journey into unknown territories.
